"The visit went pretty good, although it was short," said Corey. "I went yesterday and just got in right now. It's a nice place."
Corey will probably visit one more school then make his decision.
"New Mexico contacted me about a week and a half ago," said the 6-6, 195-pounder who was 9-3 with a 2.76 earned run average this past season. "I think I'm going to visit there and that will be it. I haven't set up a (visit) time yet."
Those three have made his final cut when it comes to colleges he will choose from.
"I've narrowed it down to three, I think. It's Oklahoma State, Mississippi State and New Mexico," said Corey, who has received offers from Mississippi State, Southeast Missouri State, Northern Colorado, Oklahoma State and expects one from New Mexico when he visits there. North Carolina State also recruited him but he decided not to pursue that opportunity.
He talked about the two schools on his list that he has already officially visited.
"(Mississippi State and Oklahoma State) are very similar," said Corey. "I didn't spend too much time with the coaches at Oklahoma State, though, so it's kind of hard to get a feel of them as coaches. But I liked the Mississippi State coaches."
As for making a final decision, it's not going to be easy.
"It's going to be a tough decision," said Corey, who plans on making a final decision two or three days after his final visit.
