Corey Dickerson Visits MSU

Meridian Community College freshman outfielder Corey Dickerson (6-2, 205) unofficially visited Mississippi State Friday afternoon.

"I really liked it," said Corey of the visit. "They showed me around. I saw their Hall of Fame room and some other things. They made a good offer. Everything was pretty impressive."

His parents went with him and were just as impressed.

"My parents went on the visit with me and they really liked it and were impressed with everything," said the 6-2, 205-pound lefthanded power-hitter.

Two other SEC teams are also showing interest in him.

"I'm also looking at Ole Miss and LSU," said Corey. "I'm supposed to go on a visit to LSU sometime with my coach."

Also looking strongly at him are numerous Major League Baseball teams due to the upcoming baseball draft.

"The (Major League Baseball) scouts are talking pretty high although I'm not really sure which round," said Corey. "The Cincinnati Reds, the (Florida) Marlins, the (Philadelphia) Phillies, the Minnesota Twins and the (Atlanta) Braves have showed interest in me."

Corey is not in any hurry to commit. First, he wants to see what happens with next week's Major League Baseball draft, then he'll take it from there.

"If I don't sign with (a pro team) I am going to take a few visits," said Corey.

Corey Dickerson hit .381 with 21 doubles, 5 triples, 15 home runs, stole 14 bases, and knocked in 54 runs this past season for Meridian.
