"Yes, even though I've been on the Mississippi State campus a lot, there were a lot of things that I hadn't seen before like the press box and club level. It was really nice."
What were the things that impressed you the most about Mississippi State that you didn't already know about?
"What I didn't know a whole lot about before were the new coaches and what they planned on doing to improve next year's record. Coach Watts and the other coaches told me how they planned on improving that."
Did you get to meet all of the coaches?
"Yes, I met all of the coaches."
I saw on a BorderWars interview that you met new MSU offensive coordinator Morris Watts. What was your impression of him?
"Oh, he sounds like a real intelligent coach. He broke down how he runs his offense and how he uses the tight end. He likes to use double tight ends a lot. He told me everything that he likes to do. He thinks that I'm the person that can do the job to help the team. He plans on visiting me at school (Monday)."
Did you get to talk to any of the other coaches extensively other than Coach Watts?
"Yes, I talked to Coach (Terry) Lewis. He is the tight end position coach. He talked to me about the position and what he likes to do.
"At the end of the visit me and my family we talked to Coach (Jackie) Sherrill. We talked for a good bit. We got all of our questions answered and the answers were what we were looking for."
Who was your host while you visited Mississippi State?
What did you think about him?
"He is a real cool person. He talked to me about me being a player and showed me around. He was really open about everything."
Who did you hang out with while you at State? I'm not just talking about current MSU players but recruits as well.
"I hung out a lot with Eric Butler from Moss Point." [Eric is also a tight end recruit.-Gene]
Did it bother you to hang out with another tight end?
"It didn't bother me at all. I thought he was a pretty cool person."
Did you guys have fun hanging out together?
"Oh yeah, definitely."
What about any other players?
"Rickey Wright from South Panola. He was a pretty cool person."
You told BorderWars that State and Ole Miss are your leaders. Is that correct?
"Yes, I've decided that I want to stay close to home."
You visit Ole Miss next weekend, don't you?
