All-American Juco OF Ladarrius Cole Update

Itawamba (MS) Community College freshman outfielder Ladarrius Cole, a second-team All-American selction this past season, adds a new team to his recruiting list.

"Ole Miss has called me and said they are interested in me," said the 5-9, 180-pounder who played his high school ball at Nettleton (MS) High School. "They asked me to come there (for a visit) in late July or sometime around then. I'm trying to see what is the best time for me to visit."

Mississippi State, a school that he has already unofficially visited and that has also offered him a scholarship, continues to stay in touch with the talented youngster.

"Mississippi State has kept in touch with me," said Ladarrius Cole, who is playing his summer ball with the Tupelo Thunder of the Cotton States Collegiate Baseball League. "They've seen me play some this summer and are talking to me on the phone."

According to Ladarrius, neither team is ahead of the other in the recruiting race.

"I like both of them," said Ladarrius, who earned All-American honors his freshman season after hitting .465 with 13 home runs and 69 RBI at Itawamba Community College. "Both are good teams and I think both have a pretty good thing going on this year and both have bright futures. I'm just praying to see which one is best suited for me."
