Norris Commits to MSU

Fairhope (AL) High School's Daryl Norris has verbally committed to play baseball at Mississippi State.

"Yes sir, I did," said Daryl when asked by text if he had committed to Mississippi State baseball as reported by a poster on my members-only message board.

Daryl, who chose Mississippi State over Alabama, is considered one of the top right-handed pitchers in the south and possibly the nation.

He recently threw in a baseball showcase and was clocked consistently at 88 to 91 miles per hour while throwing a lot of swing and miss pitches. Due to that performance, interest in him picked up considerably but it came down to Mississippi State and Alabama with the Bulldog coaching staff getting the commitment.

Daryl, who is the starting quarterback for his football team, is Mississippi State's 16th commitment in the 2010 recruiting class.
