Love Is In

Coach Dan Mullen vowed to make Mississippi State a football program that was serious about signing home state talent. The Bulldogs picked up their thirteenth commitment earlier today when Aberdeen's Jamerson Love pledged his allegiance to the Maroon and White. Love becomes the 10th verbal commitment towards the 2010 class who played his high school ball in Mississippi.

Shortly after the Bulldogs' game with Georgia Tech, Love shared the good news with the Bulldog coaching staff.

"I told Coach Mullen that I was committing and he was real glad," said Jamerson. "He told me he needed that. He said he has been waiting on that from me for a long time."

Jamerson chose the Bulldogs over offers from Arkansas State and Southern Miss.

Love, who is being recruited as a cornerback and kick returner by the Bulldogs, has known for some time he would be spending his college days in Starkville.

"I knew pretty much after the Big Dawg camp," explained the Aberdeen standout. "I just wanted to take some time to think about things."

As his announcement date drew close, Love sought the counsel of his number one fan.

"I was talking to my mom about everything earlier this week and she told me to go to the school I was the most comfortable with," said Jamerson. "She told me it was going to be my decision and that she was behind me no matter what school I chose."

With his college destination now set, Love has just one goal in mind.

"A state championship," smiled Jamerson.
