    Notes from the park:

  • There were about 75 to 85 people in attendance at the ballpark for the eight and a half inning scrimmage.
  • Two players from last year's Bulldog baseball team were in attendance - Scott DeLoach and Forrest Moore.
  • Four MSU baseball commitments - Wes Rea, Corey Dickerson, Demarcus Henderson and James McMahon - watched the scrimmage for a few innings before leaving. They were on their official visits.
  • Righthanded pitcher Corey Collins, a juco transfer, is known as a sinker-ball pitcher and his performance Sunday confirmed that. Of his six outs, five were of the ground ball variety with the other one being a strikeout.
  • I think Connor Powers has the respect of the MSU pitching staff. In the two scrimmages he has walked 7 times.
  • The pitchers expected to throw in Tuesday's game are sophomore Paxton Pace, walk-on Jordan Faulkner and true freshmen Luke Bole and Ben Bracewell.
