In their first year in 5A, the Green Wave won their region and will host a first round playoff game.

Kaleb Eulls and Yazoo County postponed their game with Lexington McClain until today. Yazoo County needs a win to keep their slim playoff chances alive.

Brandon Hill and West Lowndes (5-5) wrapped up their season last night with 24-0 loss to East Webster. The Panthers got off to a nice start this season only to lose their final four region games. In those contests they could only manage 14 points combined.

Cordell Giles has not played the past couple of weeks for Ray Brooks and it appears that his season is over.

Malcolm Johnson and Northridge also saw their season end despite a 14-6 win over Thompson. Northridge finishes the season 5-5 and in sixth place in an eight team region.

Blaine Clausell and Baker saw their disappointing season come to a close. In a battle of 1-8 teams, Baker fell to Satsuma 34-21. Baker ends the year with a 1-9 mark.

Rajion Neal had 100 yards and three touchdowns as Sandy Creek (8-1) got by Northgate 37-3. The Patriots will play Banneker for the Regional championship next week.

2011 Commitments:

C.J. Johnson and Philadelphia just keep winning. The Tornadoes advance their record to 10-1 with a perfect 5-0 region mark with a 38-6 win over Choctaw Central. Regional foes only managed 35 points combined against the PHS defense.

Nick Redmond and Harrison Central kept their Regional title hopes alive. A 38-20 win over Pascagoula has the Red Rebels in contention heading into the regular season finale.

HCHS (9-1) can secure a home playoff game with a win next week. An HCHS win over Hancock coupled with an Ocean Springs' win over George County would give HCHS the #1 seed heading in the playoffs.

Other scores of note:

Nick Griffin scored three touchdowns in a 43-14 win over Saint Patrick. Griffin is a strong candidate for Mr. Football this year. Perry Central is 11-0.

Adam Poole of Arlington HS helped his team gut out a 10-7 OT win over Millington. AHS has gone from a losing record to a perfect 10-0 season this year.
