MSU Commitment Scoreboard Update

The MSU commitment scoreboard update is free weekly feature that allows Gene's Page readers to keep up with how the current football commitments are doing in their current seasons.

Michael Carr and Curtis Virges led a strong defensive effort that resulted in a shutout as West Point (11-1) blanked overmatched Canton 36-0.

The Green Wave continue there march to Jackson next week when they host the Pearl Pirates.

Jameon Lewis ran for four scores including a 56 yarder and threw for another as Tylertown got by a stubborn Seminary team 35-27.

The undefeated Chiefs will take on undefeated Forest next week. Tylertown and Forest were the 3A and 2A south state champions respectively last season.

Jamerson Love took part in a tremendous team effort as Aberdeen (11-2) dispatched Ripley 42-16.

Love ran for a 84 yards and a score on 15 carries.

In one of the most highly anticpated match-ups of the season Aberdeen will play Charleston next week.

Miami commitment Storm Johnson may have won the individual competition with Rajion Neal, but it's Neal and Sandy Creek moving on to the second round after a 37-19 win.

Neal returned a Loganville kick 77 yards for a score to quell any momentum from the visitors.

Sandy Creek will host Tucker next week in their bid to get to the third round of the state playoffs for the first time in school history.

Antwon Chisholm will lead Glades Central in the Muck Bowl tonight against Pahokee. Kickoff is set for 6 PM.

2011 commitments:

Nick Redmond and Harrison Central saw their state title run come to an abrupt end on Friday as Oak Grove blasted the Red Rebels 56-36.

Oak Grove will take on district rival Meridian next week.

C.J. Johnson and Philadelphia ended their season last night after a 20-7 loss to Franklin County.

Other scores of note:

Nick Griffin scored on a two yard touchdown run, but Perry Central saw their undefeated season come to a close after a 21-14 loss to Morton.

Carlos Thompson's high school career is now over. Ackerman blanked Simmons 27-0. Simmons began the season 10-0, but lost their final two games.

Kenarious Gates and Greenville knocked off Pelham 25-0 and will move on to 2nd round action.
