MSU World Series Game 5 Stats and Info

Mississippi State baseball played the final game of the MSU Fall World Series Tuesday. The Maroon squad won the MSU Fall World Series 3-2. Included are complete stats and notes from the game. The fall practices came to a conclusion with the completion game.

  • A three-run 2nd inning put the Maroon team ahead 3-0. Luke Adkins had an RBI single while Jaron Shepherd hit a double that plated 2 more runs. The Maroon squad added their final three runs in the 3rd on an sacrifice fly by Russ Sneed an error and a steal of home by Jet Butler. The Grey team made a game of it with a single run in the 5th on an RBI single by Nick Vickerson and 2 more runs in the 6th on a 2-run double by Cody Freeman. All three runs were scored off of Chris Stratton.
  • State's runners were 6-for-6 in stolen base attempts. Nick Vickerson, Frank Rawdow, Connor Powers, Jaron Shepherd, Jet Butler and Trey Johnson stole the bases. Jet Butler's steal was a steal of home plate.
