Rack Earns Honor; Lady Bulldogs Now 19th

STARKVILLE, Miss. – For the second consecutive year, Mississippi State's Alexis Rack has earned SEC Player of The Week Honors announced by the league office on Monday. Rack earned the honor in large part to her career-best 43-point performance in Mississippi State's 84-55 win over Maryland on Sunday, a win that propelled them up to 19th in the latest poll.

Earlier in the week against Utah Valley, Rack totaled 16 points while grabbing five steals against the Wolverines.

Through four games this season, Rack is averaging a league second best 22.3 points a game. The Franklin, La.-native has scored in double digits the last 18 games.

Alexis Rack is the eighth Lady Bulldog Basketball Player to receive the honor.

In the Associated Press Poll released on Monday, Mississippi State jumped six spots to 19th. The Lady Bulldogs received 277 points. The ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll will be released on Tuesday.

Mississippi State's next action will come Thursday against #13 Texas as they open play in the Paradise Jam in St. Thomas, VI. State will take on Rutgers Friday and Southern California on Saturday.
