Colton Simbeck Recruiting Update

Loretto (TN) High School junior third baseman Colton Simbeck could turn out to be one of the top players in the Tennessee class of 2011. Three colleges are showing the most interest in him, but there could be more on the way.

"Three schools are showing the most interest in me - Memphis, Southern Miss and Tulane," said the 6-3, 215-pounder. "I visited Memphis last month and I'm visiting Southern Miss in January. I've also been to Mississippi State and Ole Miss this past summer with the Mississippi Prospects (summer travel team)."

Colton explained what college coaches like about him.

"College coaches have told me that they like my power and like my high energy," said Colton, who had a very good performance at last weekend's Edge Sports Showcase which was held at Smith Wills Stadium.

At the showcase, Colton showed good power (hitting several one-bouncers to the Smith-Wills Stadium wall) and a very good arm (he hit 85 miles per hour on the Stalker Gun).

As of now, Colton has three schools he's most interested in.

"My top three are Memphis, Southern Miss and LSU," said Colton Simbeck.

Keep it right here for future updates on this very talented young baseball player.
