Robinson Talks Decision

The road to signing day has been relatively quiet for Damien Robinson. The big offensive tackle has avoided the spotlight for the most part and allowed his play on the field to do most of his talking. Now that the recruiting process is over, Robinson talks a little about his decision to sign with Mississippi State.

Damien Robinson profile

Earlier today in a room packed with teammates, friends, media and interested onlookers, Robinson announced his intentions to sign with the Bulldogs.

"I took a visit there and I really liked it," said Damien. "My mom and my grandmother really like it there too, so I thought it would be a good fit for me."

Robinson has drawn offers from around the country taking official visits to Arkansas, Memphis, Mississippi State and Oklahoma before making his final decision.

From the outside Damien's recruitment appeared to be rather calm, but the All-American tackle reports the process had its' share of challenges.

"It has been very stressful at times," said Robinson. "It's hard making a decision when everyone is offering the same thing. I found things I liked about every school."

In the end he ended up liking the Bulldogs of Mississippi State the best. He has already gained some inside information from a pair of former teammates about what to expect in Starkville.

"I have a relationship with K.J. Wright and Sylvester Hemphill," said Damien. "They have already told me to be ready to come in and work hard."
