The Lady Bulldogs are coming off a blowout win against Alabama on Thursday; a game that saw Mary Kathryn Govero lead the charge with 20 points. About to go into SEC Tournament play, the Lady Bulldogs are looking to strengthen their seeding in the NCAA tournament. One of the keys to going that is senior Alexis Rack who is averaging 18.1 points a game. Rack has helped lead the Lady Bulldogs to the 4th ranked scoring offense in the SEC.

    Star Watch:
Mississippi State - Armelie Lumanu is the player to watch for this game as she has been the heart and soul of the team the entire season. She has averaged solid all-around numbers with 12.1 points and a team-leading 7.2 rebounds per game. Lumanu also leads the team with 2.6 steals a game and is second in assist with 4.1 per game. Lumanu definitely has been an impact player this season and should get consideration for first team All-SEC. Lumanu will be charged with slowing down Lady Tiger superstar Allison Hightower, one of the top scorers in the SEC.
LSU - Allison Hightower is the player to watch for the Lady Tigers. Hightower is the go-to scorer for the Lady Tigers and will be the player the Lady Bulldogs must stop. If Hightower has a big day, then the Lady Tigers probably come away with the victory. On the other hand, if MSU can slow her down, then the Lady Bulldogs could come out on top.

    The Match-Up:
This game reminds me a lot of the Tennessee game because, like Tennessee, the Lady Tigers possess the length to give the Lady Bulldogs fits. The Lady Tigers probably don't have the talent level the Lady Volunteers have, though. This match-up in intriguing since neither team has anything to play for due to the fact that both teams appear to be virtual locks for the NCAA tournament. Two factors could play into it though, pride for both teams and it being Senior Day for LSU. To win this game, the Lady Bulldogs will have to be aggressive attacking the length of the Lady Tigers, otherwise the game will have the same result as the Tennessee game. I honestly do not expect the Lady Bulldogs to pull this one out, but if the Lady Tigers don't bring it then Mississippi State definitely will make them pay.
