2011 MS Prospects Receive First Day Calls

Included is a list of Mississippi prospects that we know Mississippi State called the first day college coaches could call 2011 prospects.

Northwest Rankin infielder/pitcher Caleb Dugas, one of the better hitters in the state, received calls from four-year colleges Ole Miss, Mississippi State, the University of Louisiana-Monroe and Southeastern Louisiana.

Madison Central's hard-throwing right-handed pitcher Spencer Turnbull (high 80s, low 90s) received calls from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Miss and Samford.

Madison Central right-handed pitcher Josh Laxer, who has topped out at 93-94 mph on my Stalker gun, received calls from Ole Miss, Mississippi State and Southern Miss. All three schools are expected to offer when he comes in for a visit.

Wheeler outfielder/right-handed pitcher Brandon Woodruff, an outstanding hitter and pitcher with power in his bat and arm (92-94 mph) received calls from Mississippi State, Ole Miss and Southern Miss. He has an offer from Mississippi State. His immediate plans are to visit Southern Miss next week, then Ole Miss the following week.

Northwest Rankin left-handed pitcher/first baseman Cody Livingston, who throws in the high 80s, received calls from Mississippi State, Southern Miss and Delta State. (Edit - He received a call from Ole Miss the following day.)

St. Stanislaus left-handed pitcher/outfielder Jacob Lindgren, who has been clocked as high as 94 mph, received calls from Mississippi State, Southern Miss and Tulane.
