MSU Baseball Recruiting Update

Mississippi State's baseball coaches are showing interest in numerous 2011 prospects in the state of Mississippi as well as several high profile prospects on the 17u Dallas Patriots travel team.

Gene's Page has confirmed that the Mississippi State coaches have contacted by phone these Mississippi high school 2011 prospects.

  • Caleb Dugas - Northwest Rankin HS - INF/RHP.
  • Jonathan Holder - Gulfport HS - RHP/1B.
  • Josh Laxer - Madison Central HS - RHP.
  • Jacob Lindgren - St. Stanislaus HS - LHP/OF.
  • Cody Livingston - Northwest Rankin HS - LHP/1B.
  • Spencer Turnbull - Madison Central HS - RHP.
  • Brandon Woodruff - Wheeler HS - OF/RHP.

    In addition to these Mississippi kids, I also confirmed this week that Mississippi State is showing some interest in several players on the 17u Dallas Patriots summer travel team. Below are the players and who has called them since July 1st.

  • Kyle Bailey - LHP/1B - Has received calls from Nebraska, Florida State, Clemson and Duke.
  • Nick Bullington - C/OF - Has received calls from Rice, Louisiana Lafayette, Texas State, Dartmouth, Harvard, Dallas Baptist and New Mexico.
  • Matthew Kaskow - OF - Has received calls from TCU, Dallas Baptist, Belmont and Dartmouth.
  • Jeff Stovall - RHP/1B - Has received calls from Arizona State, Nebraska and Dallas Baptist.
  • Kevin Terry - C/RHP - Has received calls from Nebraska, Texas A&M and Arkansas.

    According to Dallas Patriots coach Logan Stout, all of his 17u team players have received calls from college coaches since July 1st. Several of his players are already committed to colleges, including RHP John Curtiss to Texas and Joshua Bell (OF), Trevor Story (SS/RHP) and Braden Strickland (RHP/OF) to LSU. He also confirmed that RHP Ryan McCarthy is being recruited by Ole Miss.
