Any other Johnny O'Bryants in the making among the youngsters?
"I've seen a couple of guys who have the potential but they are young," said O'Bryant with a slight laugh.
Next up for O'Bryant is an AAU tournament in Orlando, Florida.
"We play Thursday in Florida at the showcase," said the Scout.com 5-star prospect.
While playing AAU ball this summer, he's honing aspects of his game that he feels need improvement.
"I still need a little more work on my defense, so I'm doing defensive drills trying to improve my footwork," said O'Bryant. "Offensively, I've been working on my ball-handling."
He's also working on his outside shooting and he has seen positive results from the extra work.
"I've seen my jump shots falling better," said O'Bryant. "It's gotten a little better."
O'Bryant currently has 14 schools listed on his Scout.com profile page. When asked what schools he's interested in, he mentioned seven.
"I have both Mississippi schools on my list, Ole Miss and State, Kansas, Georgetown, LSU and Georgia Tech," said O'Bryant, who is ranked 18th overall in Scout.com's class of 2011. "And Kentucky is also on my list."
When asked if any school leads the others, O'Bryant said, "no, I don't have any favorites."
He probably will narrow his list to a more manageable number in early August.
"I will probably narrow it down to five schools right after (the) Orlando (AAU national championship tournament)," said O'Bryant.
