Class of 2012 Twymond Howard Update

Pearl High School class of 2012 basketball player Twymond Howard talks about his strengths as a player, what he has worked on this summer, and where his recruitment stands.

Before we get into the basketball portion of this article, I asked Twymond about football, more specially if he was going to play it again or give it up.

"I am giving up football," he said. "It's really not in my mind right now, I'm just focusing on basketball. Basketball is my passion, the sport that I really love."

He's seen quite a bit of improvement in his game this summer.

"I really think my offensive and defensive awareness has improved, like my help side defensive," said the 6-6, 200-pounder. "I think my driving ability has improved and (the use of) my left hand has improved a lot."

One aspect of his game still needs some work, though.

"I still need to work on my ball-handling," said Twymond.

College coaches not only like his talent level and skill set but also the way he plays the game.

"The coaches have said they like the way I play, the passion and energy that I play with," said Twymond.

He talked about the colleges that are currently showing interest in him.

"I noticed that Mississippi State was on me pretty hard this summer," said Twymond. "They were at most of my games. Southeast Louisiana was at a lot of my games. And Tennessee, also."

And several others have been sending him a steady stream of letters.

"Missouri has sent me a bunch of letters. And Wake Forest has, too," said Twymond, who claims offers from Tennessee, Mississippi State and Baylor.

A couple of schools have jumped to the top spot.

"I really like Mississippi State and Tennessee," said Twymond. "I like watching other teams play but those are my two main schools."

Four other schools are also of interest to him.

"I like the way Missouri plays. I also like Baylor, Wake Forest and Florida State," said Twymond.

Keep it on to follow the progress of the exceptionally talented Twymond Howard.
