With the camp season rapidly approaching, Elontae Bateman has several schools who are showing varying levels of interest, including some scholarship offers.
"I've heard from Samford, Mississippi State, Louisville, Memphis, East Carolina, Howard, Middle Tennessee State, UTEP, Cincinnati and Appalachian State this spring. My offers are from Southeast Missouri State, Austin Peay, Arkansas State, Tennessee-Martin and Tennessee State," Bateman said.
Bateman feels like offers from Middle Tennessee State and UTEP are close as well. But there's another school he's interested in.
"I like Missouri State," said the 6-foot-3, 270-pound tackle. "We had a kid from Memphis to sign there this year. And I like their academics too. I know their coach has followed me on Twitter, but we haven't talked yet."
Bateman's strengths along with his size make him a sleeper prospect in Tennessee who could have a huge summer and senior year.
"My strengths as a player are that I am smart with running our scheme, I have good get off and I chase after plays. I use my hands, and I hustle," Bateman said.
Bateman plans to visit several schools and attend some camps this summer as his final year of high school approaches.
"I visited Ole Miss, Memphis, Mississippi State and Austin Peay this spring. The camps I'm going to attend are Memphis, Middle Tennessee State, Ole Miss and the Southern Elite Top 150 camp," he finished.
