Missouri State picked up a commitment from local prospect, Zach Cameron. The 6-foot-9, 200-pound post man committed to the Bears and didn’t consider other programs.
“I had no other offers, but I had a list of schools that appealed to me. I knew Missouri State was the right fit for me,” Cameron said.
So what was it that made Missouri State the right choice for Cameron?
“The coaching staff (stood out), definitely. They have been telling me the last couple of years that if I work hard enough, things will pan out for me. I truly believe that as a part of their program, I can accomplish great things,” Cameron said.
Cameron was also thrilled with the Bears’ campus and greatly enjoyed his visit.
“I made my visit on July 2nd and 3rd. I couldn’t tell you what I liked most. It was just a great experience,” he said.
The experience was so great that Cameron was ready to pull the trigger and commit to Missouri State.
“I expected to commit on the campus, but we left for lunch before I could say anything. I actually verbally committed at the (restaurant). Everybody was excited,” he continued.
Cameron has the kind of skills that Paul Lusk and his staff covet.
“I can defend multiple positions. I crash the boards every time a shot goes up. I’ve improved offensively and have become more assertive trying to score and get my shot off around the rim,” he finished.
