JUCO sophomore Jaypee Philbert picked up an offer last week from Missouri State. The big lineman talked with Bear Boulevard about his offer and his recruitment.

Originally from Grayson (Ga.) Archer High, he signed with Alabama State out of high school before opting for Junior College at Coffeyville (KS.).

Philbert doesn’t know much about Missouri State, but he’s happy to have gotten the offer from the Bears.

“I don’t know much about Missouri State. I am excited about the offer,” he said.

Philbert has interest from a few regional programs so far, aside from Missouri State.

“I have gotten a few looks from Kansas, Iowa State and Georgia State,” said the 6-foot-5, 275-pound offensive tackle.

Aside from this sheer size that Philbert possesses, he talked about a few of his other assets as a player.

“My strength is that I am a great pass blocker,” he said. “As a player I am always trying to improve my game and my technique,” he finished.
