The 5-foot-11, 170-pound senior Quintin Mueller is an all-around athlete in the defensive backfield. Mueller was a standout for his team and did a standout job leading his team into the playoffs.
“(I am) an overall player. I’ a leader on the field and off. I’m an athlete that has played almost every sport in high school. I can hit hard and cover. In high school I would just cover the other team’s best receiver.
“I can play all over the field in the secondary. I’m very versatile in what I can do to help the team win on and off the field,” he continued.
Mueller had 44 tackles, 18 passes broken up, and five interceptions helping his team to a 9-3 record. He also had 772 all-purpose yards and four touchdowns on the way to all conference, all district and all state honors.
On the recruiting side, he’s got a few schools showing him interest.
“I’m hearing from Drake and a handful of D2 schools,” he said.
And Missouri State?
“(Missouri State) is not too far away from my hometown outside of Kansas City. I know Missouri State has struggled in the past, but that won’t be the case with the hiring of Coach Stec,” said Mueller.
Mueller believes that Dave Steckel will lead Missouri State to the next level because of his successes as Defensive Coordinator at Missouri.
“He had great success as Missouri and the assistant coaches have also had great success. That will translate to Missouri State,” he said.
So what does Mueller foresee happening on the recruiting front?
“I have talked with the coaches about a visit, but as of right now there is nothing official. I am hoping I will find out for sure in the next week or so,” he finished.
