Missouri State has made contact with Fort Zumwalt North (MO.) defensive back Tre Johnson. Johnson talked with Bear Boulevard and shared the latest on his recruitment.

Tre Johnson received a visit Tuesday from Missouri State Defensive Coordinator Marcus Yokeley. The senior came away from the meeting hopeful about his opportunity with the Bears.

“(Coach Yokeley) talked to me at school. He just wanted to meet me. He said he will call me soon and let me know what’s going on,” Johnson said.

The 6-foot, 190-pound defensive back felt comfortable with Yokeley and would love to help Yokeley and new Head Coach Dave Steckel get things started at Missouri State.

“He was definitely a nice guy. I was hoping I could get an offer. I would love to be a part of a new era,” he said.

Yokeley also talked to Johnson about where he’d fit in on the Bears’ defensive unit.

“He explained to me what was going on with them right now. They are looking at me at corner. When they all get back together and meet he will call me and let me know what’s up (with an offer),” Johnson finished.

Bear Boulevard and Scout will keep you updated on Tre Johnson.
