6-foot-1, 165-pound defensive back Darius Joseph took his official visit to Missouri State almost two weeks ago and left the Springfield campus a Bear. While he didn’t share the information about his commitment immediately, he was sold on what Dave Steckel’s program has to offer.
“I’ve been committed since (my visit),” Joseph said. “I love the campus along with the coaches. Coach Yokeley I really liked talking to. The chemistry we’ve built together gave me confidence in the program.”
Joseph thinks very highly of the new head coach as well, citing his prior accomplishments as big attractions.
“Also Coach Steckel is a former marine. I can tell he doesn’t play nor listen to crying. I can tell his attitude will boost my motivation,” Joseph said.
But there was even more that Joseph liked about Steckel.
“Not to mention he has 10 rings under his belt at the SEC level. He’s the perfect man for this head coaching job with his known success at Missouri,” Joseph finished.
