The early signing period for basketball is fast approaching, and Missouri is closing in on a limited number of 2011 prospects. Among those currently holding a Missouri offer is F Otto Porter 6'9" 196 Sikeston (MO) Scott County Central.
Porter currently holds offers from Georgetown, St. Louis, Mississippi, Missouri State and Southeast Missouri State, in addition to Missouri. Recently, ShowMeMizzou spoke with Porter's high school coach.
"I know that he really likes Mizzou," said Scott County Central's Kenyon Wright. "I know he likes the way they play, and (he likes) Coach Anderson."
"He hasn't decided on any place, yet," continued Coach Wright. "He hasn't decided on where he's going to go."
Coach Wright indicated that he thinks it's likely that Porter will wait until next spring to sign. And, he listed Missouri, Georgetown, and St. Louis as currently on top of Porter's list of schools.
According to Coach Wright, Porter has grown a little since last season.
"He's definitely improved as a player," said Coach Wright. "He's definitely improved his ball handling skills, and he's gotten stronger. He's a little bit taller. He's about 6'9", now. He's definitely a little stronger."
