Following his official visit to Missouri over the weekend, 2011 safety commit, Ian Simon 6'0" 185 4.42 told ShowMeMizzou that his visit went well.

"It was great! I loved everything about it," said Simon, who has been committed to Missouri since June. "I loved being able to hang out with the players, and meet the players..................... I got to meet the rest of the coaching staff, and see what good people they are. I loved everything about it. The people are great! The players are great! The coaches are great!"

Simon attended the Missouri-Presbyterian basketball game, and enjoyed seeing Coach Pinkel accept the Trophy awarded to Missouri by the Big 12 for their 2010 North Division Co-Championship.

"The basketball game was pretty cool," said Simon. "Getting to see Coach Pinkel accept the Big 12 North Championship was pretty exciting stuff."

Simon also said that he really enjoyed getting to see the Tigers practice from up close. And, he said that he's begun a friendship with fellow commit, Cortland Browning. He said that he discovered that one of his cousins is a teammate of Browning.

Simon grew up watching Missouri junior safety Kenji Jackson, who is also from Mansfield (TX). Over the weekend, he was able to spend "a whole lot of time with Kenji".

"That was greatness! I grew up watching Kenji play," said Simon, speaking about his soon to be teammate. "I've seen him since I was a little kid, and I've seen him play on TV the past few years. He's like a hero to me. It was just really great being able to hang out with him! He's an excellent person! He's a good mentor to me."

I asked Simon what he liked the best about his visit?

"I'm not going to lie," answered Simon. "I loved the snow! That was great!"

"But, the thing I liked the most out of everything," continued Simon, "was definitely the players. They're just genuine people................... I was welcomed very warmly."

Simon is spending his time working out, and getting ready to hit the ground running, when he arrives at Missouri in June.
