Junior highlights of one of Missouri's top football prospects for 2012, plus an update on his recruitment and his thoughts on the Tigers

The state of Missouri has some quality prospects among it's 2012 football recruits. It also has a higher then normal number of defensive line prospects then it produces in a regular year.

Ritenor DE/DT Edmond Ray 6'5" 290 is among the top overall prospects in the state and top defensive linemen in the Midwest. talked to Ed recently to get his thoughts on Mizzou and find out what the latest is in his recruitment.

A few coaches have come by my school to talk to my coach about me," said Ray. "I have received a bunch of junior day invites to schools like Missouri and Kansas State and some others. I will be going to the Mizzou and K-State ones since they are close".

Missouri coaches Gary Pinkel and Cornell Ford along with K-State coach Mo Lattimore have been by Ritenour to see about Ed Ray.

I asked Easy Ed his thoughts on Missouri and being recruited by them.

"They're pretty cool. I like them and they seem to have a lot of great athletes there and great coaches".

While Edmond Ray doesn't have any offers yet, more schools will find out about his talents before long. We will continue to follow his recruitment and how his junior day visits went once he returns.

Below are highlights from his junior season.


Edmond Ray is an athletic bigman with good speed and quickness who explodes off the line of scrimmage. He has good speed and shows the ability to get after the quarterback, run down plays to the opposite side, or play the run in the middle of the line. He is aggressive and has a good motor which he used to record 74 tackles, 8 sacks and 1 fumble recovery playing in the tough Sunurban North conference. He also plays offensive tackle for the Huskies and rearely leaves the field.
