Rose, who received an early offer from Nebraska and committed last July, and more recently picked up a verbal offer from Iowa on a recent junior day visit there, shared his thoughts on the visit and Missouri entering the recruiting race for him.
"I had a good time there. I went up there with a lot of my teammates and it was nice," said Rose." All of my teammates are big Missouri fans and they were excited and loved it."
"I saw some of the facilities, but I am not a big on that with any school. I am more interested in finding a school that has good academics and coaches that I like and can see myself spending the next 4-5 years at."
Michael got the chance to talk with his position coach and recruiting coach in more detail and filled us in on where the Tigers see him in the recruiting landscape.
"I really liked talking with Coach Steckel. He is a straight forward guy who tells it like it is, but he is a lot of fun, too. I also like talking to Coach Hill, who recruits my school and Kansas City. Coach Hill told me that they would like to keep me in the state of Missouri and will be recruiting me heavily, and that the staff will be meeting soon and making decisions on offers after signing day. So, it sounds like an offer will come. We'll see."
I asked Rose his thoughts on possibly getting an offer from the Tigers and what that would mean.
"I like Missouri a lot. It's close to home and has good academics. I like the coaches and it's a school I could see myself playing at."
Up next for Michael will be more junior day visits.
While still committed to Nebraska, Rose has opened his recruitment to other schools and does not feel in a rush to make a final decision.
"I will check everything out and make sure I make the right choice in the end."
