I've had an offer from Memphis since last year, and now I have offers from Colorado, Missouri, and Baylor," said three-star junior Germain Ifedi. "Colorado was last week or the week before. Missouri was awhile back - in early January. Baylor offered around the same time that Missouri did.
"My top three are Texas A&M, Missouri, and Baylor. They're all tied, because I've seen nothing yet that separates any of the three from the others. People tell me that Missouri has great academics, which I like."
Ifedi (6-5, 315) attended recent Junior Days at both Texas A&M and Baylor.
"The offensive line coach at Texas A&M took me to meet with Coach (Mike) Sherman," said Ifedi. "There's no offer from them yet, but I think it might be coming soon. I hope so. Coach Sherman told me that they're very interested. He said that it's a lengthy process with recruiting and they're still evaluating me. I like the way the coaches treat the players at Texas A&M. They had some down years but appear headed in the right direction. I feel like Coach Sherman has his offense in order.
"Before I went to the Junior Day at Baylor, I hadn't really thought about them much. The visit went great, though, and they have really good coaches. I had a meeting with Coach (Art) Briles, and he was telling me about their program and the successful linemen that have come through there."
With Ifedi returning for his senior year at Houston Westside - along with RB Ben Catalon and WR Deante' Gray - the 2011 season bodes well for the Wolves.
"We plan on having a great year," said Ifedi. "We should easily take district. Lamar took it last year, but they had a lot of seniors."
