Missouri Offers Texas OT

The Missouri Tigers become the second Big 12 team to enter the race for the big offensive lineman from Texas

Simon Goines, the 6-foot-8 offensive tackle from Keller Central (Tx.) HS, recently added a new offer from a Big 12 school. Which school is the latest to offer? Which two schools may be next?

"Missouri offered me," said Simon Goines, the 6-foot-8, 281-pound offensive tackle. "They actually offered last Thursday or Friday, but I didn't get a chance to talk to their coach until today. He told me they're offering me a scholarship and they really want me to come up there for school."

That gives Goines four offers (Missouri, Baylor, Houston, North Texas). Who will be next?

"Kansas State told my coach today that they're offering me, and I'm supposed to call them tomorrow to make it official," said Goines. "After that, I think Arizona might be next. I'm going to Arizona this weekend. The other schools who are recruiting me the hardest are Nebraska, Mississippi State, Michigan State, Ole Miss, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Texas A&M. There's a lot."

Last weekend, Goines attended Junior Day at Texas Tech.

"It went better than I anticipated," he said of the Lubbock visit. "I got to see a little more than I'd previously seen at Tech. It went pretty good, overall. They said I have an open offer, but they also want to watch me a little more."
