Tigers Pick Up Commitment From Williams

One of the top running backs in the state of Texas was at the Missouri Black & Gold game today and pulled the trigger on becoming a Tiger with his verbal commitment

Jonathan Williams 5'11" 195 RB Allen(TX)has had Missouri as his leader for several months now during the recruiting process. Williams told me that he was almostt 100% sure he would commit to Missouri, but that he wanted to visit for the Black & Gold gameto meet the coaches and find out more, including if he was highly wanted for the Tigers running game.

Williams seems to have gotten the answers he wanted as he became the Missouri Tigers 3rd known commitment for the 2012 class.

"I just left the complex and my visit went great", said Williams. "I committed to Missouri. I'm a Tiger!"

Williams had told me earlier that his coaches had wanted him to wait until the summer to commit to a school, but that he could not wait.

"I just knew after getting here and talking to Coach Pinkel and the rest of the staff and the atmosphere here that this is where I want to be." Williams said. "So I kept texting with my high school coaches and told them that I know Missouri is the place for me. It has my major and everything just fits for me."

Jonathan was on the trip with another future Tiger and Allen (TX) native in Brad McNulty. He also spent some time with Tiger target Ondre Pipkins.

"I got to meet Ondre and he was big. A lot bigger then I expected. I just really liked everyone I met and I am happy with my decision."

"I liked the game and the whole atmosphere on my trip here."

Williams ran for over 2,000 yards and 19 TDs as a junior.
