Visitor Talks Mizzou And Possible Offer

One of the many recruits who attending the Missouri Tigers Black & Gold game talks about his visit and what he is hearing about a possible Tiger offer

Among the many recruits in attendance at Missouri's Black & Gold Scrimmage was 2012 DT Donald Hopkins 6'1" 272 4.9 Lago Vista (TX). After he returned home, he spoke with about his visit to Missouri, and the current status of his recruitment.

"The whole atmosphere of Missouri is pretty good," said Hopkins, who said that he really enjoyed his visit to Missouri. "They're highly ranked, and they run a tight ship."

Hopkins projects as a nose tackle collegiately, as he is explosive off of the ball, and has already demonstrated a very effective bull rush, often putting offensive linemen on their backs. He has posted a vertical jump of 29", and has a maximum bench press of 250 pounds, and a personal best of 495 pounds in the squat.

Hopkins told that Missouri plans to sign three defensive tackles in this class. I asked Hopkins where he rates Missouri.

"Number one, by far," replied Hopkins, who is waiting on an offer from the Tigers. "They're going to wait (to offer me). Because they have some other guys that they're looking at. But, I'm very high on their list."

Hopkins suggested that he would likely commit to Missouri when offered. He expects that it may be this summer before he receives a Missouri offer.

"I'm fine with that," explained Hopkins. "I'll deal with that."
