The coaching change at Missouri has generated new interest in the Tigers for 2012 SG Cameron Biedscheid 6'7" 190 St. Louis (MO) Cardinal Ritter, who was "not a good fit" for Mike Anderson's system. The talented Biedscheid spoke with ShowMeMizzou.com about his current recruiting status.
"My commitment (to Notre Dame) is not solid," began Biedscheid. "It's just a verbal commitment. I mean, my recruitment is still very much open. I'm committed to Notre Dame, but I still want to see what else is out there, as far as other schools go."
Biedscheid hadn't yet spoken to new Missouri Coach Frank Haith, but he did say that Haith had been recruiting him to Miami. Biedscheid said that he'd be willing to listen to Missouri, with Coach Haith at the helm, although he admitted that he doesn't really know what Coach Haith's Missouri teams are going to look like, or how they're going to play. He'd like to see how Missouri will play under Coach Haith.
"I don't really know yet," replied Cameron, sharing some of his thoughts about Missouri, under Coach Haith. "I've haven't seen them play a game with (Coach Haith) coaching. So, I wouldn't really be able to say until I really see that. I'm pretty sure he's a good coach. I mean, he coached in the ACC. You can't really coach in that conference without being able to coach a team. I mean, Miami hasn't really been all that good. I guess I'll just have to wait and see."
Biedscheid has grown in height, and gained weight, over the past year, and has worked hard on improving his ball-handling, and other parts of his game. It sounds like he played as a "point forward" on his high school team this past year.
Biedscheid is planning to play for the St. Louis Eagles this summer. He responded to my question regarding his interest level in Missouri.
"I'm leaving my options open for all schools, really," replied Biedscheid. "If Missouri comes at me, I'll show interest, especially since I'm from Missouri. I'm just leaving my options open to all schools, as well as Notre Dame."
ShowMeMizzou.com will continue to follow Cameron Biedscheid's recruitment.
