Sheperd Receives Home State Offer

St. Louis (MO) Parkway Central standout talks to about his latest offer from the Missouri Tigers he received today and where they are among his top choices

St. Louis (MO) Parkway Central WR/S Brandon Sheperd 6'3" 190 has been among the top overall prospects in the state of Missouri's 2012 football class receiving attention and offers from many schools except the home state Missouri Tigers. That is until now.

" I just received my offer from Missouri,"said Sheperd in a recent phone call to inform me of his newest offer. "The Tigers offered me today when I spoke with coach Ford. They offered me as an athlete instead of a receiver, but it's still good to get,"

The Tigers liked Sheperd as a potential safety in college and had talked to him about playing the position, something Sheperd was not too happy about at first. However, being recruited as an athlete will allow him to pick where he wants to start out at. Something the Tiger staff allows incoming recruits to do.

The standout athlete has received offers from schools such as Iowa, Indiana, Kansas State, Minnesota and Illinois among others.

He has visited Mizzou a couple of times during the spring and had been hoping for a Tiger offer.

"It's exciting to finally get it. My family is excited because they would like to be able to come to all of my games. I have always liked Missouri and they would be in my top 3 with this offer," said Sheperd when asked how he felt about getting the offer from the home state school.

I asked who else was among his current top 3 schools.

"I would say Indiana and Iowa. Although Kansas State and Minnesota have been coming on as of late"

Brandon also informed me that USC, Oklahoma and Vanderbilt will be coming by his school tomorrow.

Brandon Sheperd plans to camp with the Tigers this June along with several teammates.

He also said he has been talking to some other local recruits about attending the same school.

"Me, Donavin Newsom and Jehu Chesson have been talking and would all like to attend the same school if possible. Hopefully, that will work out" will continue to follow Brandon Sheperd's recruitment.
