Ray, who has early offers from Missouri, Kansas State and Kansas, but is receiving increasing interest from more schools as of late such as UCLA,Notre Dame, Indiana and USC, made a recent trip to the University of Missouri for an unofficial visit, and shared his thoughts on the visit and his overall impression of Mizzou as a potential college destination.
"It was really nice and I had a lot of fun," said Ray." I was the only recruit there and that was special. The whole time there was good. I got to spent some time with all the coaches, and I also got a chance to sit down with my Mom and Coach Pinkel. That was was great. I think of coach Pinkel like a celebrity, but I really liked him, and my Mom really liked him, too. He is a really down to earth kind of guy."
Ritenour head football coach Hoyt Gregory confirmed that Ed Ray had a good visit.
"He liked it. It was just him and he got to spend some individual time with the coaches. They were able to talk about his major and they talked to him about their program,"said Gregory.
I asked "Easy" Ed if the visit made a difference in how he viewed the Tigers football program and if they were high on his list of schools he could possibly commit to.
"They were always one of my top choices, and seeing the school, facilities and meeting the coaches means they're even higher with me now," said Ray.
Things are about to get even busier for Ed Ray with colleges coming by his school and another visit and camp on the horizon.
"USC is coming to my school tomorrow (Wednesday), also Iowa and Mizzou are coming to my school this week. Then I will be going to K-State on May 29th, and I will be going to Mizzou camp at DeSmet the first week of June," said Ray regarding upcoming happenings with his recruitment.
Could a short list of schools and timeline for a possible commitment be coming up soon?
"Naw, I'm not really sure yet. I have some schools in mind though," said Ray.
