Woods Waiting On Transfer Decison

Center Tony Woods is weighing his options and waiting to make a decision on what school he will utlimately transfer to as we get the latest update regarding his possible decision

Missouri Basketball Coach Frank Haith has indicated that he intends to utilize his three presently available scholarships try to add big men, possibly in the form of transfers. He'd like to add at least one big man who could play this year.

ShowMeMizzou.com spoke with Norm Parker, who has become the spokesperson for former Wake Forest transfer, C Tony Woods 6'11" 250 Louisville (KY) Jefferson Community College. Parker is the long-time head coach of the Georgia Stars AAU team, for which Woods played prior to attending Wake Forest.

Parker indicated that Woods is finishing up his schoolwork at Jefferson, and that afterwards, he'll take some visits, and arrive at a college choice. Parker indicated that Woods will be eligible to play basketball at a four-year school during the 2011 fall semester. He will essentially be seen as a junior college transfer, and he is planning to play two more years of college ball.

"Tony is going to finish up school, and then he'll make a decision," said Parker.

Parker described Woods as a physical post player.

"Tony's a big, physical player," explained Parker, describing Woods' play on the court. "He's 6'11". Strong. He's a paint player. He's going to get you rebounds. Very strong, physical. Good defender. Good rebounder. He's a typical center that does all of the dirty work in the paint."

Woods is considering Missouri, Louisville, and several other schools from major conferences.

"When the time comes, (Tony) will take visits," said Parker.
