Haith Lands His First Commitment

ShowMeMizzou.com has learned that 2013 F Tyrek Coger 6'8" 240 Raleigh (NC) Upper Room Christian Academy has given Coach Frank Haith a verbal commitment while on an unofficial visit to Missouri.

"I gave Coach Haith a verbal commitment," confirmed Coger.

Coger, who has a 7'1" wingspan, cited his relationships with both Coach Haith, and Coach Fuller, as factors in his decision. He said that he expects Coach Haith to develop him as a player. He had also spoken with one of Coach Haith's former players at Miami.

"I talked to Reggie (Johnson), down at Miami," said Coger. "And, he said that Coach Haith is a great coach."

"I knew Coach Tim (Fuller) from when he was at Louisville," Coger continued. "He's been recruiting my brother, (Rodney Purvis)."

Coger, who said that he is expected to grow to over 6'10" by the time he is finished growing, told ShowMeMizzou.com that he is a "B student".

Coger also mentioned meeting and hanging out with Phil Pressey on his unofficial visit, and he said that the academics at Missouri are also a factor in his decision.

"I'm excited about (my decision)," Coger told ShowMeMizzou.com.
