Standout DE To Camp With Tigers

One of the top defensive end prospects in the Midlands has plans to camp with the Missouri Tigers this summer and shares his thoughts on the Tiger program

The Missouri Tigers have developed a reputation for producing some quality defensive linemen in recent years, including two defensive linemen taken in the first round of the NFL draft in the past three years in Ziggy Hood and Aldon Smith.

It's no wonder that they have the attention of several outstanding 2012 defensive line prospects that they are recruiting.

One prospect in particular does not currently have a Missouri offer, but is planning on camping with the Tigers.

That prospect is Wichita (KS) Collegiate DE Trace Clark 6'5" 240, currently a 3-star prospect and ranked as the 32nd best DE in the 2012 overall.

"I plan on attending Missouri's one day camp in Kansas City this June," said Clark. "Right now things are still in the letter stage with them."

The standout defender isn't hurting for offers with 13  already, including ones from Oregon, Oklahoma State,Iowa,Rutgers, Stanford,Baylor and others.

I asked Trace, whose brother Zac played for Oregon and helped them reach the national championship game last season, and who would like to major in business and finance in college, what he liked about Mizzou.

"Mizzou is a good program and they have a good coaching staff."

Clark hopes to see the campus this summer, hopefully after picking up an offer from the Tigers.

Currently he says that  all teams are "pretty equal".

Clark's father, Steve, played for the New England Patriots in the 1970's.
