Overstreet Gives A Recruiting Update

2012 QB Jalen Overstreet gives ShowMeMizzou.com the latest regarding his recruitment and where things are with the Missouri Tigers being one of his suitors

Recent develops lead everyone to believe that the Missouri Tigers will likely need to take two quarterbacks in the 2012 class. The Tigers currently have offers out to several potential quarterbacks, one of them is Tatum (TX) signal caller Jalen Overstreet 6'3" 207 4.5 a three star prospect ranked 20th overall at his position for the 2012 class.

ShowMeMizzou.com caught up with Overstreet to find out where his recruitment was and where the Tigers fit in at this juncture.

"Things are going good. Besides Missouri I have offers fromTexas Tech, Kansas, Baylor and I my most recent offer just came from Michigan," said Overstreet. "The Michigan offer surprised me a bit because they want me to play wide receiver. I have also started getting recruited by Arkansas and SMU  lately and I think I may get offers from them next."

He shared his thoughts on Missouri.

"I like Mizzou. I think they want me more as an athlete then purely a quarterback. I want to play QB, but I won't be stubborn about it if I feel a school is the right place for me,"

"I have watched Mizzou since Chase Daniels played for them, and one of my cousins (David Overstreet II) played there at Missouri. I have talked to the coaches and they seem cool, but I have been focused on track and not really on recruiting. Our spring football is starting up, so I will be focusing on football more now,"added Overstreet.

Jalen is taking a laid back approach to recruiting at the moment and isn't in a hurry to make a commitment anywhere.

"I don't feel like I need to rush things. I plan on visiting all the schools that have offered me, and then looking at how I fit in with them. If they are recruiting me as a quarterback then I will look at how many QBs they have and how many young QBs are there. The when I find the right fit for me I will now it and then I will commit. It won't be a drawn out process."

ShowMeMizzou.com will continue to follow the recruitment of Jalen Overstreet.
