New Offer Talks Tigers

The Missouri Tigers have been extending some new offers as of late and we get the thoughts from one of them about his latest he has added and where they fit in his plans

To this point in the Missouri Tigers 2012 recruiting efforts we have not seen much of a focus on the cornerback position. While the Tigers had extended a couple of offers earlier, they renewed their search for a potential corner to sign by extending an offer to Waco (TX) DB Will Hines 6'1" 190, 4.47 forty-36" vertical jump on this past Friday. spoke with Hines about his most recent offer to get his thoughts on the Tigers.

"I was excited to get the Mizzou offer," said Hines." Coach Odom has been recruiting me and when I got the news I was very happy. They are a program on the rise and are in the top 25 on a regular basis. They said they liked my film and want me to come play cornerback for them. They also said I remind them of a cornerback currently on their roster from Texas, Kip Edwards, I think."

The standout cornerback had 35 tackles and 3 interceptions as a junior, and is just coming off a successful track season where he said he competes in the relays and had a personal record in the high jump of 6'6". He also plays basketball at Waco.

Hines, who also holds offers from Notre Dame,Arkansas, Oklahoma State,Baylor,Texas Tech, Tulsa and Texas State besides Mizzou, plans on making a summer visit to check out Missouri along with his other top schools on his list.

"I plan on making a trip to Missouri over the summer. I am visiting Arkansas on July 16th for a camp and I am pretty sure I am visiting Oklahoma State for one as well. I will basically visit my top schools that have offered me."

When asked about his top schools at the moment, Hines listed four he is currently focusing on, and a fifth that he may have stronger interest in.

"Right now it's Missouri,Arkansas,Baylor and Oklahoma State that I like a lot. I also like Michigan and they seem like they might be close to offering, but those four are ones I will definitely visit and that I am strongly considering."

Hines, who described himself as a player as someone who likes to press and be physical and uses his long arms well as a cornerback, expressed what he is looking for in a school and his timeline for making a decision.

"I am looking for a school with great coaches, a great fan base, great history and where I can get a great education. My plan is after my summer visits to commit sometime before my senior season starts." will continue to follow Will Hines recruitment.
