Mizzou Still An Option For Peters

One of the few remaining unsigned big men Richard Peters gives ShowMeMizzou.com the latest regarding his recruitment, including Mizzou and if a possible visit may be coming in the future

Missouri Head Coach Frank Haith continues to indicate that he would like to add a big man for this season. One such option is C Richard Peters 6'10" 260 Phoenix (AZ) Westwind Prep.

Peters has vacillated about whether to come out for 2011, or for 2012. He told ShowMeMizzou.com today that he has received a Missouri offer, to go along with offers from Washington, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Marquette, and Pepperdine. Peters has just completed his semester, and has received his test scores. He believes that he may be qualified to come out now, and that's when most of the schools recruiting him would like him to come in. He should know about his qualifying status in a few days.

"From what I know right now, I'm going to qualify for 2011," said Peters. "I'll know for sure in a few days."

Washington is atop Peters' list, but he's seriously considering Missouri, as well as others. He's planning to take unofficial visits within the next few days and weeks.

Peters said that he was prepared to, and had decided to, come out in 2012, but he said that he may change his mind, and come out now.

"Every school that's recruiting me now is recruiting me for 2011," explained Peters. "They want me now. I might change my mind. Everybody wants me more for 2011 than for 2012."

The big man told ShowMeMizzou.com that he has been talking to his old friend, Missouri RSF, and former AAU teammate, Kadeem Green.

"Kadeem said, "What you waiting for? Come on bro,"" laughed Peters.

Peters indicated that he may visit Missouri at the same time as his Westwind teammate, 2012 SF Negus Webster-Chan, which would be sometime in June.
