Valentine Hopes To Narrow Things Down Soon

Edwardsville (IL) standout defensive tackle Vincent Valentine gives an update as to where his recruitment is as and what he has planned for this summer

Edwardsville (IL) DT Vincent Valentine 6'4" 315lbs took some time to update us about his recruitment while at a track meet, and talked about his hopes to narrow the focus of his recruitment soon.

"Things are good. I am up to 17 offers overall now," said Valentine. "Northern Illinois is probably my latest offer, but I have been taking things slow as of late."

The massive defensive lineman also has offers from the likes of Oklahoma,Missouri, Alabama,Auburn,Tennesee,Florida,Nebraska, Wisconsin, Iowa and others among those 17 offers.

Vincent doesn't plan on taking things slowly during the summer as he hopes to take some visits and start to reduce the number of schools that he will be giving serious consideration to.

I'm still kinda am wide open to schools and haven't narrowed things down yet. Most schools are still in it and I will pay attention to to try and come up with a short list," said Valentine.

"I also want to make some visits and see some schools like Wisconsin, Tennessee, Florida, Missouri, Alabama and Nebraska this summer to learn more about them and help me make up my mind," added Valentine.

Regarding local schools, Vincent mentioned possibly attending Missouri's one day camp coming up in June and taking unofficial visits to both Mizzou and Illinois in coming weeks.

"Both Missouri and Illinois are still in it for me. I'm gonna look at everybody closer this summer and try and figure out who I like and who I don't.There are some who stand out more then others now, but I will figure that all out."

Vincent Valentine does not have a timetable for when he hopes to make a decision by.
