"Missouri Is Still High Up There"

Texas DT Donald Hopkins was one of the many visitors to Missouri's Black & Gold game. He told us at the time his thoughts on the Tigers, and now shares his thoughts after his most recent offer

Following his visit to Missouri for the Tigers' Spring Game, 2012 DT prospect Donald Hopkins 6'1" 272 4.9 Lago Vista (TX) told ShowMeMizzou.com that Missouri rated "number one, by far," on his list, and that he would "deal" with waiting for an offer. He had also suggested that he would commit to Missouri when that offer arrived.

Well, less than six weeks have gone by, and Hopkins now has that Missouri offer, along with several other offers, including Alabama, Arizona, Army, Houston, Idaho, Kansas, New Mexico, SMU, Tulsa, Wake Forest, and Wyoming, among others.

"Missouri offered me today," said an excited Donald Hopkins. "Missouri called my head coach. Actually, it was my school principal that told me about it."

So, I asked Hopkins if he was going to commit to Missouri? He said that things have changed.

"Well, I don't know now, because of all of these other schools," said Hopkins, laughing. "I'm real excited about the Missouri offer, because I've been wanting an offer from them for a long time. But, now I don't know if I'm going to commit to them, because of all of the other offers."

"Missouri is still high up there," explained Hopkins. "SMU and Missouri are the highest up there, because I haven't visited any of those other schools. I'm going to visit Alabama, and I'm going to see how that is, compared to Missouri. And then, I'm going to take some other visits before I make my decision."

Hopkins indicated that he also wants to visit Arizona and Kansas before he makes a decision. He said that he would like to make his decision by the first of August.

ShowMeMizzou.com will continue to follow Donald Hopkins' recruitment.
