Great Impression Made On Tiger Visitor

The Missouri Tigers had one of their top defensive targets in town on Friday for an unofficial visit and he shares his thoughts on how it went and what he is thinking about with his recruitment

The Missouri Tigers had one of their top targets in the state as well as overall for their 2012 recruiting class in town on Friday for an unofficial visit.

Parkway North LB Donavin Newsom 6'3" 220 made the trip over from St. Louis (MO) with his high school coach, Bob Bunton, and checked things out first hand at one of the many schools that has offered him. Apparently, the visit made quite an impression.

"It well really well. It made a great impression on me," said Newsom. "The way the coaches pushed across that it wasn't nothing but family up there, and everyone seemed so relaxed and laid back. I saw that everyone really gets along and that even though they're not in season they are still kicking it and hanging out."

So is Missouri a team he would consider among his top teams?

"Most definitely."said Newsom.

Since he seemed really pleased with his visit I decided to ask if the thought of committing to the Tigers had crossed his mind.

"Yes,sir. It could possibly happen soon, but I really can't say for sure,"he added.

Donavin also told me that the Tigers are recruiting him to play outside linebacker, and that as of "right now" he doesn't have any plans for any more visits lined up. He also said that he thinks he will be at the Tigers football camp on Sunday in St. Louis. will continue to follow the very latest in the recruitment of Donavin Newsom.
