"Donavin just got off the phone with Coach Ford and he's committed to Missouri," said Parkway North Head Coach Bob Bunton. "We went up there for a visit last Friday and it sold him on Missouri. He's happy and confident with his choice."
Donavin called me with the news and said that he had a feeling all along that Missouri was the school for him.
" I feel very confident in my decision and I am committed to Missouri," said the spoft spoken Newsom. " I had my recent visit and it made me realize what I had pretty much known all along, that I wanted to play at Mizzou. My family is happy and I am happy."I asked Donavin what stood out to him that helped him make up his mind.
"The coaches and everything when I was up there. Everyone was just chill and cranking jokes and got along so well. I just felt good about everything."
Donavin said that he now turns his attention from being recruited to being the recruiter and trying to help friends such as Jehu Chesson, Brandon Sheperd, Ed Ray and Durron Neal join him in Columbia.
Donavin Newsom becomes Missouri's 6th known commitment for 2012.
