The Missouri Tigers picked up their 9th verbal commitment for the 2012 recruiting class from Ruston (LA) cornerback Kentrell Brice 6'1" 175 to add to their commit list. ShowMeMizzou.com caught up with Kentrell after practice today to discuss his decision to play football for the University of Missouri.
"I committed to Missouri because the coaches showed me the most interest and I felt they really wanted me,"said Brice regarding his Tigers. " I felt they were the best fit for me and can do a lot for me and that I can do a lot for them."
Kentrell said it ultimately came down to Missouri over Ole Miss as his choice.
He seemed pretty familiar with the Tiger program despite not having visited yet.
"I have watched Mizzou on TV and I have found out a lot from Coach Odom about them and how they play defensive and play a lot of nickel and dime, which is what we play here. So I feel good about it. I am visiting up there sometime in July. I think around the week of July 17th. I am looking forward to it."
Kentrell hopes to come in and compete as a freshman, but understands that he will do whatever he can to help the team.
"I hope to come in and help right away, but I have no problem if I have to red-shirt and then do the job as a red-shirt freshman or sophomore.
Brice has already struck up a friendship with another Missouri commit.
"I talk with Donavin Newsom who has committed also. We are friends and talk."
Kentrell reported his most recent forty time of being a 4.47.
