The Hunt For Hunter

One on the top defensive linemen in the state of Texas talks Missouri, his recruitment, and the teams that have made the narrowed list for his services

The Missouri Tigers have made the initial cut for a 2012 DE, whose physical abilities evoke comparisons to former Missouri Tiger, and now San Francisco Forty-Niner, Aldon Smith. Danielle Hunter 6'5" 220 4.59 Katy (TX) Morton Ranch took time to speak with, and he updated us on his recruitment.

Hunter's recruitment blew up this spring, after Missouri offered him, and he is now up to "about ten" offers, including Arkansas, Colorado, Houston, Illinois, LSU, Michigan State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech.

Hunter said that Houston is the only school that he has visited so far, but he's planning unofficial visits to Oklahoma and LSU "pretty soon". He'll utilize official visits to check out those schools of interest that are farther away.

He gave us a narrowed list of schools that he plans to visit prior to making a decision, which will probably come sometime after the season. That narrowed list includes Arkansas, Illinois, LSU, Michigan State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and TCU.

Hunter said that his Nebraska visit is scheduled for near the end of September, but that he doesn't have any other officials scheduled at this time.

Hunter underwent testing prior to spring ball, and he reported some of the results, including 4.59 seconds in the forty-yard dash, 35" vertical jump, 290 pound maximum in the bench press, and 445 pound maximum in the squat.

On his forty-yard dash, Hunter said, "I think I'm faster now, because I've been doing a lot of running......................... That was before spring ball."

Hunter is a good student, who is on track to graduate next May, and intends to study mechanical engineering in college. will continue to follow Danielle Hunter's recruitment.
