The Missouri Tigers have wrapped up their annual June camps with the second of two team camps held in Columbia. This concludes a camp season that included nearly 2600 total campers, and attracted talented football players from numerous states.
The second team camp featured teams from Francis Howell, Quincy Notre Dame, Smithville, and St. Joseph Central, among others, in addition to the numerous individuals who were assigned to the various Renegade teams. Among the many individuals in attendance were 2012 QB Dalton Demos 6'4" 190 St. Louis (MO) CBC, 2012 QB Gerard Evans 6'2" 185 Mansfield (TX), 2013 WR Lance Evans 6'1" 170 Mansfield (TX), 2013 TE/DE Calvin Blank 6'5" 225 Terre Haute (IN) North, 2012 OL 6'3" 280 5.2 Beau Jenkins Mildred (TX), 2012 CB/WR Jarvis Jones 6'0" 182 Webb City (MO), and 2012 PK Nick Coffman Houston (TX).
The Evans' brothers are pretty good-looking athletes. Jenkins showed great quickness, and almost certainly helped himself in the eyes of the Missouri staff. Blank has real good hands, and great size, for a TE, but may project as a lineman in college. Jones is a real good-looking athlete, and corner prospect, whom we had seen in Springfield a week earlier.
Francis Howell, led by 2012 QB Eric Siebenshuh, who was named as a camp MVP, along with several of his teammates, was one of the better-looking teams in attendance, as was Quincy Notre Dame. Siebenshuh is a fast-rising prospect, who impressed ShowMeMizzou.com at last year's camp, but who has yet to play QB at the varsity level for Francis Howell. Once his game video becomes available, this talented QB will likely be on his way to play college football. He has good size, and athleticism, to go along with a very good arm.
Coach Yost had a talented group of kids comprising his Renegade Tigers, including Jenkins, Blank, and Jones, and camp MVPs, in OL Antar Thompson 6'4" 285 Maplewood, 2013 DL Langston Ward 6'4" 230 Spokane (WA) Mead, and T.J. Schieber 6'3" 230 Hamilton (MO) Penney.
Langston Ward said that he "really liked the camp," and that he would "be back next year". His father, Michael Ward, coached at Missouri during the late 80s, and his mother, Tracy Ellis-Ward played at Missouri.
Among others who stood out during the camp, and who were recognized by the staff as camp MVPs, were Renegade offensive lineman, Kevin Gardner, and other offensive linemen, including Sam Fulmer Smithville (MO), Nick Reichert Quincy (IL) Notre Dame, Shayne Theiby Affton, Cole Viettoe Grain Valley (MO), Alex Cooley Lebanon (MO), and Matt Hillis Francis Howell North.
In addition to Siebenshuh, other QBs recognized as camp MVPs included Chase Brown Warrenton (MO), Tyler Clampet Chillicothe (MO), Darrin Dudley St. Joseph (MO) Central, Darius Jackson Sparta, Jacob Kaiser St. Joseph (MO) Central, Ty Lafavor Warrenton (MO), Gannon Lannier Pleasant Plains, and Jacob Lewis Chillicothe (MO).
Among the wide receivers recognized as MVPs, were Josh Archer Lebanon (MO), Corey King Francis Howell, Tyler Lamb 5'11" 175 Smithville (MO), and Renegade Harrison Dollins Kirksville. It was reported that King scored 7 TDs during the 11-on-11s.
Renegade running backs, Rodrick Williams, Taquan Kelly 5'7" 170 Macon, Esra Vaofi Ft. Osage, and Bryce Boudreau were each selected as MVPs by the Missouri staff, as were running backs Jordan Barnes 5'10" 180 St. Louis (MO) Trinity,Nick Travis Troy (MO) Buchanan, Adam Fozio Francis Howell, Tarron Givens Francis Howell North, Caleb Blackeywell 5'9" 205 Lebanon (MO), Luke Himekamper Quincy (IL) Notre Dame, Richie Isenhart, and Luke Sediswicks Grain Valley (MO).
Defensive MVPs included Renegade DBs Jobe Haynes and Tyler Walker 5'11" 175 Clayton, and other DBs, including Jean Pierre Affton, Dre Irvin and Kyle Fox both of St. Joseph (MO) Central, 2013 DB Ben Chaney 6'2" 190 Troy (MO) Buchanan, Landon Hedrick Grain Valley (MO), Taylor Ray Pleasant Plains, Mason Palmer and Guy Vinson, both of Chillicothe (MO).
Other defensive MVPs included Renegade LB Jack Trump, and Matt Ladd. Also recognized as MVPs were LB Austin Black 6'1" 245 and Tyler Wolf, both of Warrenton (MO), LB Tim Thomas Francis Howell, LB Scott Spangler Troy (MO) Buchanan, LBs Alex Walker and Drake Krupe, both of Francis Howell North, LBs Brady Gengenbacher and Blaine Wilson, both of Quincy (IL) Notre Dame, LB Tucker Pauley Grain Valley (MO), LB Josh Cornett Pleasant Plains, LB Zibeon Washington St. Louis (MO) Priory, and LB Joe Dominic Smithville (MO).
Closing out the camp MVPs, were Renegade defensive linemen, Jake Harper and Luke Ross, and defensive linemen Josh Brown 6'3" 225 and Calvin Monson, both of Francis Howell, Andrew Horsely Lebanon (MO), Dalton Gilbert Troy (MO) Buchanan, and Ryan LeForge Sparta.
These were just some of the many standouts from among the approximately 900 players in attendance at this camp. ShowMeMizzou.com and ShowMePreps.com will have more on many of these individuals going forward.
