KC Area Big Talks Mizzou Offer

Missouri Tiger basketball coach Frank Haith and staff continue their search for top flight hoops talent by going after the best on the local scene as well as nationally

Coach Frank Haith and his staff have been busily scanning the countryside for future Missouri Tigers. ShowMeMizzou.com has learned that Missouri has gone back to a local AAU team to make another scholarship offer.

A 2012 C/PF Willie Cauley 6'10" 223 Olathe (KS) Northwest has informed ShowMeMizzou.com that he has received a Missouri offer. The big man, who plays for the Kansas City-based MOKAN Elite, also holds offers from Alabama, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Iowa State, Kansas State, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, and Texas Tech, in addition to Missouri.

Cauley said that at this time, he hasn't really narrowed things down.

Cauley has good length, and his defense is ahead of his offense at present, but he's looking forward to the July tournament circuit, and an opportunity to apply some of the offensive skills that he's been working on in the gym.

Cauley would prefer to play facing the basket, and he has been working on his jump shot.

"I want to play somewhere that fits my style," said Cauley. "I really don't want to play center. I'd rather play forward."

Cauley hasn't yet visited Missouri, but he indicated that he'd like to trip to Columbia to "check it out", later this summer. He's looking to narrow his choices following the AAU summer season, and he'd like to make a decision prior to the start of his senior season.

ShowMeMizzou.com will continue to follow Willie Cauley's recruitment.
