Tiger Target Board: Defensive Tackle 2012

ShowMeMizzou.com continues to break down the Missouri Tigers football recruiting targets at each posiition with a look at the defensive tackles who are likley to wind up in Black & Gold for the 2012 class.

The following is an unofficial Missouri Tiger target board for the defensive tackle position in the 2012 recruiting class.

The Tigers look like they will take at least 3 defensive tackles in this class, and the dominoes may start falling very soon for the open spots available.

This board only includes offered prospects at this time. We have found in our research that Missouri is in the top 3 with a majority of these prospects, so filling the spots from these players listed will likely happen.

Ondre Pipkins 6'4" 322 5.2 Park Hill (MO)

-Big Ondre is one of the most heavily recruited players in the country and with good reason. Players with his size, strength and athleticism at the interior defensive position don't come along every day. He wants to wait until January to announce on TV is possible, however, some of the schools he likes may need an answer before then. Missouri is in the mix along with Michigan, Oklahoma,Tennessee and Alabama.  He has developed a close relationship with the staff and other Missouri football commits.I like the Tigers chances and feel they are among his top 3 schools at the moment.

Donald Hopkins 6'2" 270 4.9 Lago Vista (TX)

-Hopkins has had the Tigers at the top of his list for a long time now. He was at the Missouri spring football game and afterwards told us that if he received a Missouri offer that there was a good chance he would commit. That chance could be right around the corner. Hopkins recently told ShowMeMizzou.com that he will be attending a Texas A&M camp this weekend, and that after that a commitment would likely come sometimes next week with the Tigers being his top school. Donald is down to three schools with those being Missouri, Alabama and Baylor. Both Texas and Texas A&M have recently talked to Hopkins about offering him.

Aaron Curry 6'3" 272 4.9Keller( TX) Fossil Ridge

- Curry is another of the Missouri DT offers who lists the Tigers among his top 3 schools. He was planning on making a visit on July 18th, but has pushed it back to July 26th so that he Mother can attend with him. When asked by ShowMeMizzou.com about possibly committing while on his visit Curry replied,"Yes, if I like it a lot." We believe that Curry is another player that could possibly pull the trigger for Missouri in the coming weeks.

Edmond Ray 6'5" 290 4.9 St. Louis (MO) Ritenour

-Big "Easy" Ed Ray is one of the top football prospects in the St. Louis area for 2012. He attended the Missouri camp in St. Louis back in June and was unsure at the time when he may be making a possible decision. He is trying to decide between Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kansas and Kansas State. Schools such as Penn State, USC and Alabama have shown interest, but have not offered to date. ShowMeMizzou.com believe that Ray will likely decide before the start of his senior season. We have reason to believe that the Tigers are among the Chicago native's top 3 schools at this time.

Evan Winston 6'4" 255 4.8 Muskegon Heights (MI)

-Winston came in for an unofficial visit to Missouri back in June and picked up and offer on the 22nd of that month. Evan was taking a road tour of schools back at that time and told ShowMeMizzou.com that his top 3 schools were Missouri, Iowa and Cincinnati. He also plans on making his decision before the start of his senior season if possible. He may take another unofficial visit sometime soon.

Nathanael Lohn 6'3" 265 4.8 Kansas City (MO) Staley

-The Kansas City standout Lohn has really caught fire since this spring with double digit offers. He has visited or camped at numerous schools that he is considering. Nate has told me that he will just feel it when he knows which school he wants to decide on attending. His list of top schools includes Missouri along with Stanford, Iowa and Nebraska.

Tomme Mark 6'2" 265 4.77 Lufkin (TX)

- This Texas defensive standout has offers from schools such as Arkansas,Michigan State, Houston and Utah. He reported to us a top 5 of Missouri, Texas A&M,TCU,SMU and SFA. He currently does not have offers from A&M or TCU, but will be attending an A&M camp this weekend with hopes of getting an offer. He said he would like to take a visit to Missouri this summer, but may have to wait to take an official visit. It looks like he may want to stay in Texas and Missouri is the only out of state school he is seriously considering.

Zorrell Ezell 6'1" 280 5.0 Humble (TX)

-This 3-star defensive tackle prospects lists Missouri among his top 5 schools currently and says that he would like to make an unofficial visit to Missouri this summer if possible and make official visits during the year. He also has offers from Arkansas, West Virginia and Kansas State reportedly.

Vincent Valentine 6'4" 319 5.1 Edwardsville (IL)

- While the Tigers do not appear to be high on the massive DT from the St. Louis Metro East side's list of current schools, it hasn't stopped them from recruiting him. While Valentine is currently listing Nebraska as his top school, the thought is that he will continue to give schools close to home consideration in his recruitment.

Sheldon Day 6'1" 280 Indianapolis (IN) Warren Central

- Sheldon Day has held a Missouri offer for sometime now, but has not really mentioned Missouri among his top schools. He recently said he was wide open, but the thought is that he will stay somewhere in the Big 10 or possibly Notre Dame to play college football.
